Diocesan Support Appeal / "To Serve is to Love"

Dear Parishioners,

The Diocesan Support Appeal for 2023 has a meaningful theme of "To Serve is to Love." This theme encourages us to embrace charity and kindness, and to follow the teachings of our Catholic faith. The appeal is inspired by the words of Philippians 2:5–9, which call us to serve one another with love and compassion, and to humbly regard others as more important than ourselves. The goal for the 2023 DSA is set at $6,526,380, representing an increase of $159,178 or 2.5% over the previous year. It is important to note that the weekly average parish offertories for the prior year, through December 2022, were up by 6.0% in total compared to the previous year. The 2023 DSA target for our parish has been calculated using the parish offertory for the last calendar year, reduced by 25% of school subsidy payments. The past support that has been given to the DSA is truly gratifying, and we are deeply grateful for the continued assistance of our parishioners. We ask for your support in meeting the ever-increasing needs of diocesan agencies and ministries that change lives every day. By pledging your support to this appeal, we can look beyond the needs of our individual parish and reach our DSA goal together. With your help, we can serve our community with love and compassion, and follow in the footsteps of Christ by humbly regarding others as more important than ourselves. Again, please accept my sincere thanks for all you do to serve the people of God in our parish community. May God continue to bless you throughout this new year. Sincerely, Father John
